With Valentines Day around the corner, I am looking forward to indulging in decadent chocolates and avoiding those chalky “Be Mine” and “Kiss Me” candy hearts. But the heart I should be focusing on is the one that keeps me active and alive. February is Heart Health Month and since heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, it is imperative to take precautionary measures to reduce its risks.
We are doing our part in February to raise awareness on the impact heart disease has on women through participating in the “Go Red for Women” campaign. You’ll see some members of our in-flight team wearing red dresses onboard. We not only support The American Heart Association through our attire, but also donate to The American Heart Association from each purchase of a red dress by a Virgin America in-flight teammate.
Make sure to keep your eye out for the red dresses and if you want to participate in the movement to build healthier lives free of cardiovascular diseases, you can donate onboard through the Red Entertainment system. Additionally, you can also sign up for a Heart Walk and join more than a million people in 300+ cities across America in taking a stand against heart disease.
